In sign languages, aspect is a grammatical concept that is very much linked to time, but different, however. Aspect does not really refer to the chronological placing of an action or state along the past, present and future temporal axis, but rather it is telling us something about how the action takes place. For example:
 
    "I was about to tell him when he asked."
    "When you have read it and understood, you tell me about it."
    "He's always complaining, I'm fed up."
