In the second alternative structure case, the elements of the sentence are the same, and it is their order that changes. First of all we find the element that bears the property to the highest degree, then the adjective sign, then the "more than" comparative sign and finally the sign of the element that bears the property to a lesser degree.

"The elephant is stronger than the lion."
