When indicating the plural, non-manual markers often contribute quantifying information, also expressing the amount. The greater the quantity expressed, the more typical it is to blow up the cheeks. The smaller the quantities expressed, the non-manual markers used are protruding the tip of the tongue, raising the eye-brows and lifting the shoulders.

        "There were loads of people in the cue at the bank."
        "A lot of people go to the Town Hall."
        "Of the many students attending the exam only two or     three passed."
        "There were very few people sitting in the centre isle of the theatre."
