Our group is interested in the molecular mechanisms that control the number and variety of cells in the central nervous system using the mouse as an experimental model. The group's current projects include the study of the protein kinase DYRK1A in the development of the cerebral cortex and its implications for genetic disorders such as Down syndrome or autism.

Areas:

 Development   Neuronal death   Cognition

Keywords:

Neural precursor, cell cycle, proliferation, apoptosis, cerebral cortex, retina, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, DYRK kinases
