Our research interests are protein folding, misfolding and amyloid formation, with special focus on their role in conformational diseases such as Alzheimer, Mitochondrial and Prionic disorders. We use an integrated experimental and computational approach to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying the conformational changes that cause the conversion of functional proteins into cytotoxic aggregates and their propagation in tissues.

Central Nervous System Disorders
Neuronal death
